  Opposition Leader Douglas Tomuriesa said he is disappointed and embarrassed over the way His Holiness Pope Francis was treated by Prime Minister James Marape over the last three-days during the Papal visit, and the lack of courtesy and respect shown by the Prime Minister. He said the Prime Minister continuously declares PNG as a ‘Christian country’ and prides himself on being a religious individual but he was surprised when the Pope was continuously snubbed by the PM over the weekend since the Pope’s arrival on Friday. “The Pope is the head of the Catholic church, the largest Christian church in the world and he is also a head of state. “PNG not only being a Christian country, but a country that prides itself as a ‘friend to all, enemy to none’, the PM should be according the Pope with the highest level of respect,” Tomuriesa said. Kuk chips, Sirunki strawberries served in Dubai

PAPUA New Guinea products Kuk Kaukau chips, together with Sirunki strawberries and Ilimo Gelato were served to visitors at the PNG pavilion in the World Expo 2020 Dubai during an Agriculture week recently.
Innovative Agro Industry group (IAI), an Israeli company, was invited to the Dubai Expo to present its achievement in developing a dairy industry as well as agriculture in PNG.
Company executive director Ilan Weiss was a key speaker at the PNG investment forum, presenting IAI’s vision of sustainable agriculture through value chain creation, smart agriculture and community engagement.
Southern Highlands’ Kuk Kaukau chips also produced by IAI were served at a PNG Cuisine dinner arranged by the PNG pavilion team with special guest Deputy Prime Minister Sam Basil and delegates in attendance.
Guests learned that the ‘Kuk’ brand took its name from the Kuk Unesco heritage site in Western Highlands, where archaeological evidence for early agricultural drainage systems and crop cultivation dating back 6,900 years ago.
IAI business development manager Gallit Tamir said the Kuk site, and brand name, represented the origin of agriculture.
“Those ancient traditions continue to shape farming as it is today.”
“We are proud to tell the PNG agriculture development story and demonstrate the international export capability of our quality, organic Papua New Guinean food produce.”
Meanwhile, the Sirunki Strawberries by Enga Fresh Produce and Ilimo Gelato another IAI product were served to visitors at the PNG pavilion during the Expo2020 PNG national day celebration.
